Fashion Like Fine Wine fashion and lifestyle blog pairing fashion and wine take on the Fisherman Aesthetic.
The Fisherman Aesthetic trend is about embracing the balance between function and high fashion, curating a wardrobe that’s both polished and delightful.
Cozy knit sweaters that feel like a warm hug on a blustery day, classic Breton stripes that never go out of style, and sturdy boots that are ready to conquer both city streets and seaside shores.
I’ve always enjoyed the coastal grandmother look with its elegance and charm. A cable knit sweater and some classy denim jeans could never disappoint. I also love to opt for a soft cardigan and linen pants in the cooler days of summer- the perfect laid-back elegant look.
When I heard about the Fisherman Aesthetic trend from Pinterest predicts, I was delighted to combine cozy with chic, especially in transitional season outfits.

Cable Knit Sweaters
A cable knit sweater exudes timeless elegance and the best part is that it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
I love layering my cable knits with a denim collard shirt or a silk high necktie blouse for that elevated posh look. In the summer nights I like to tie a cable knit cardigan around my shoulders over a linen tank top.
I especially love a cable knit sweater because of its intricate patterns of twisted cables lending both texture and a touch of understated sophistication. Whether you’re off for a spot of afternoon tea or a countryside ramble the cable-knit sweater is your go-to for keeping chic and toasty.

Trench Coats
Personally, I’ve never really owned a trench coat that I absolutely loved or felt the best in- ones I’d consider were very baggy and loose for me and I felt like they swallowed me up! If you gals have any suggestions, I’d be happy to hear in the comments!
I do believe that a long trench coat with water resistant material is the best buy even if it can be pricey, it most likely will be high quality. I do have a wish list for my perfect trench however, and sometimes it makes me wonder if I’m just too picky (don’t settle for less)!

Fashion Like Fine Wine’s perfect trench:
Some understated epaulettes on the shoulders, with a very feminine storm shield are must haves for my ideal trench coat. I also love a belt and sleeve loops. Thoughtful details like adjustable cuffs, deep pockets and a belted waist to create a flattering silhouette are a must! Gun flaps and flap pockets I’m neutral about however I do want a single-breasted button pattern coat- double breasted trenches although classy aren’t my style as of yet!

A neatly rolled denim cuffed at the angle is my cup of tea! Something about revealing just a flash of your classic loafers instantly adds a polished yet versatile touch to your outfit.
I like to pair my cuffed denim with a low flattering kitten heel or square toe low block heel, a high quality leather belt with a sleek gold buckle.
