There’s something utterly enchanting about candlelight dinners, don’t you think? Whether it’s a romantic evening at an upscale restaurant or a sophisticated dinner party at home, choosing the right attire can make the night truly special. Allow me to share with you some of my favorite candlelight dinner looks.
You will not be surprised to learn that I’ve always loved fashion. A candle lit evening is a glamourous opportunity to dress in something completely elegant, with feminine silhouettes and classy embellishments.
The romantic ambience of a candlelight dinner reminds me of evenings filled with the clinking of fine glassware, and the soft glow of flickering flames casting a warm, golden hue over everything. When I think of candle lit dinners, I can’t help but think of Paris and its sophisticated elegance.
What I’ve Worn

A go to look for a candle lit evening would be a structured red mini dress with bows or velvet accents, a point-toe pump and a classy clutch to tie it all together.
Another look would be a bold wide leg trouser with point-toe heels, a cloud clutch and a strapless puff sleeve blouse.
To elevate these looks even more, I’d consider a rosette necktie, chunky gold statement earrings and part my hair on the side for a glamorous touch.
What to Wear to Candle Lit Evenings
I know it could be tough to try and pull something together and it might even feel like you have nothing to wear or a whole bunch of pieces that won’t go together. But the most important thing is to mentally sort through your closet identifying key pieces that have:
- Lace
- Appliques
- Velvet
- Bows
- Sequins/ Sparkles
- Rosettes
These characteristics in clothing pieces scream candle lit evening to me!
Then think bold lips, big curls, soft glam makeup and mini bags.
