What to Wear to a Wine Bar or Vineyard: Chic Yet Casual Outfits for Every Occasion

what to wear to vineyard

Sip in style at your favorite wine bar with our guide to a vineyard outfit. From flirty dresses to statement accessories.

Italy: Neutral and Flowy

For those lovely evenings in Italy, embrace the effortless elegance of neutral tones and flowy fabrics.

I love to wear a maxi dress to a vineyard in Italy, its the perfect wine bar outfit. Its flowy, feminine and oh so comfortable. Vineyards in Italy are usually a few hours long and include a vineyard tour, wine tasting and meal it’s the total experience for a wine lover like me! That said, you do want to stay as comfortable and cool as possible, especially in warmer months.

My ideal look would be a flowy maxi dress, like a V-neck style with puff sleeves or a flowing A-line silhouette or flattering smocked waist. My color palette for Italian vineyards is a soft yellow, light green or beige. These colors all compliment the picturesque background and look lovely in photos!

I wouldn’t go for a satin or faux satin dress or skirt just because you can see sweat a lot more especially on the bum! If its more of an evening event, you can tie a sweater around your shoulders, this looks especially great with cami dresses.

Flat or low platform sandals are my go-to. These are ideal for uneven terrain and comfort. I’d go for a low heel if you’re dinning in the vineyard or are there for an event, like a wedding!

Two-piece maxi skirt sets are also very chic and can be complimented with an elegant clutch and bold sunglasses.

Napa Valley: Fur and Fabulous

When heading to a wine bar in this iconic region, consider incorporating plush fur accents to elevate your outfit. Napa Valley is such a fun place to go for a winter winery experience too! A shaggy faux fur jacket with a pair of dark denim straight jeans and a white t shirt is a casual but chic wine bar outfit for the cold weather.

South of France: Floral

Capture the romantic essence of the South of France with floral patterns and delicate details. Red floral midi dresses remind me of French sophistication. Plain options with floral appliques or lace detailing are also romantic and chic. I always recommend a soft floral pattern; very loud floral prints aren’t my style, and I feel like they clash in photos with the surrounding landscape. I love midi dresses with a Basque waistline, its drop waist and dramatic V-shape, elongates your frame and visually narrows your waist for a very chic look.
