What to Wear to High Tea

What to wear to High Tea, the perfect occasion for indulging in delicate pastries, fragrant teas, and, of course, impeccable style. One must dress the part, of course, for this is no ordinary gathering. Picture, if you will, a Parisienne elegance woven with the timeless charm of tweed, the softness of pastels, and a dash of understated glamour. For such an affair, one must look as if they’ve just stepped out of the pages of a society gossip column, perfectly poised and effortlessly chic.

My favorite inspiration when I plan my high tea outfit for a high tea event is the Royal Ascot. Every outfit is feminine, structured and graceful. The silhouettes are tailored perfection, from A-line to fit-and-flare dresses, each highlight your shape while keeping the style elegant. Oh, and the marvelous fabrics; lace overlays or subtle brocade.

Accessories with Grace for High Tea Outfits

Think pearls, delicate gold or silver jewelry, and leather handbags in neutral tones for your high tea outfit. A pair of pointed-toe heels, preferably in nude or soft metallic shades, would complement the structured outfit beautifully. A vintage-style clutch with intricate detailing could complete the look.

Gorgeous Tip for High Tea

As we discuss the art of dressing for a high tea affair, one must, of course, consider the setting as much as the attire. How splendid it would be to sip one’s tea in an establishment befitting such elegance—perhaps the famed Candella Tea Room in London? Oh, the thought of its opulent interiors, the clinking of fine china, and the scent of freshly brewed blends mingling with the sweet aroma of scones and clotted cream… It is most certainly on my own bucket list.

Let me know in the comments if you have had the pleasure of visiting this most exquisite tea room, my dears.
