Your Capsule Wardrobe Needs an Upgrade

capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe for me is a collection of my clothing pieces that I can swiftly pair to create reliable outfits without the hassle of sorting through my entire closet. I use my capsule wardrobe to save me time and I make sure all the pieces work together so that I can look and feel stylish!

I don’t have one capsule wardrobe but like to make a few per season, occasion and travel destination. Since I have many capsule wardrobe collections and it can be tempting to purchase new pieces, I try to stick with the rule of 5.

What is the Rule of 5 For your Capsule Wardrobe?

If you are looking to purchase a new item, (I can admit, I indulge in a bit of retail therapy a touch too enthusiastically!), it has to go with at least five items you already own.

This can be tricky, but it also sets you up for when to save and where to splurge when the time is right!

I’ve had more than my fair share of moments where I thought ‘this is the one,’ only to spot an absolute gem a few months down the line.

Darlings, I’m thrilled to share my exclusive Capsule Wardrobe Method with you—all for free! Simply enter your email below, and you’ll receive it straight to your inbox.

I LOVE the 5 4 3 2 1 travel wardrobe method I’ve incorporated into my packing routine.

Its pretty simple and makes total sense- especially if you are travelling to Italy (Believe me, darling, you definitely don’t want to find yourself strutting on cobblestone streets, struggling with a suitcase losing its wheels every which way, all because you couldn’t quite settle on which sandals or wedges to pack!)

Here’s how it goes:

  • Five tops
  • Four bottoms
  • Three pairs of shoes
  • Two layering pieces
  • And one Pajama, belt, or hat.
